Neck lift surgery is mostly performed under general anesthesia or sedation. The procedure during the operation may vary depending on the consultation between the patient and the doctor. As a result of this decision; a traditional neck lift can be performed, or the surgery can be performed with a limited incision. In a conventional neck lift, the fat in the jowl is distributed and shaped.
The tissue under the skin is repositioned. During this process, the platysma muscle is stretched. An additional incision is often made if liposuction and muscle repair are required.
In the limited-incision procedure, only an incision is made around the ear. The length of this incision is short and the results can be limited. At the end of both procedures, the incisions are closed by using sutures or skin adhesives. If the absorbable sutures are not used, the stitches should remove by the surgeon after a few days.
