Brow Lift Surgery
Brow lift surgery, named “forehead lift” also, aims to improve the saggy eyebrows to reduce and remove the wrinkles and lines around the eyes and forehead. The lines and wrinkles of the patient can be removed with this surgery. The eyebrows look shapely with brow lift and the patient gets a better and young appearance.
Brow Lift Surgery Procedures
Brow lift surgeries usually are applied with general anesthesia. In some cases, sedation may be preferred due to the decision the patient and the surgeon make together. The operation takes 1 or 2 hours depending on the method used. There are two different methods. In the first method, mini incisions are made by using a tool called an endoscope. The second one is coronal brow lift which involves the incision from ear to ear in the hairline. The incisions are closed with sutures after the process. Both these ways include significant differences with small touches. These incisions are about 3 or 5 mm.
Preparation for Brow Lift Surgery
There are some requirements asked by the doctor from the patient during the preparation process before the brow lift surgery. It is important that the patient follow the measures below:

- Quitting smoking,
- Not using aspirin and similar medications.
It is also necessary for the patient to find a person who can accompany her/him after the operation.
Risks and Side Effects of Brow Lift Surgery
The decision period of brow lift surgery is quite the same as other aesthetic surgeries. It is recommended that the candidate be aware of her/his wishes, and undergo the surgery knowing the possible side effects and risks. For this, a discussion with the doctor can be helpful beforehand.

Brow Lift Surgery: Recovery
Some procedures are applied to the patient to reduce the effects such as swelling and bleeding after brow lift surgery. A bandage can be placed on the forehead. A small tube also may be inserted to drain any fluid or blood that may accumulate under the skin.
The patient should take a break from heavy exercises and activities, keep his head elevated for a while and not bend it down too much. It may be possible to return to daily life between 10-15 days.
Stitches can be removed during or just after this time. The bruises may be closed with the help of small cosmetic materials. By following the doctor's instructions, the necessary care should be taken in the surgical area. It may take several months to see a full recovery.
